Shorted!

Seems that demand exceeded supply on seabass yesterday. We were allocated none. Sorry for the teaser. BUT! We DID manage to get some huge softshell crabs in today!

Celebrate Friday with Live Jazz!

Once again, Joe Glarner and Friends will be playing the great standards of Jazz from 8-11pm at The Cafe. Along with great live music, enjoy beautiful cocktails skillfully mixed by Meredith. She'll help usher out the winter with great, fresh-brewed Southern Tier draft beers and a big selection of wines by the glass.
We are talking about keeping the kitchen open later so we can serve our Bruschetta Pizza at the bar while the band plays. Seems that our little bar snacks of pimento cheese and crackers just doesn't last very long!

Thursday Delivery!

Here it comes! Seabass! If you haven't had it, it's amazing. If you have had it, you know what I'm talking about.
This fish is a wonder to work with. We typically get one single ten-pound filet in at one time. White as a sheet, the thickness ranges from 1 inch at the tail to 3 inches at the head end. We prefer to cook it hard and fast! This way, it achieves a cripness on the exterior and a juicy and flaky center. Best fish I've ever tasted.
Let's talk about some methods of preparation! Seabass lends itself well to fruited butters and chilis!

Spring, finally...

Now that it is comfortable enough to walk the street again, we are beginning to see more friends come around to snack at Forte and The Cafe. We've extended Lunch at Forte to Monday-Friday 11-3pm. We are also considering extending our Sunday Brunch at The Cafe into May. Give us a reply and let us know if you will be by!
